Over the Horizon

A cool autumn wind rustles the dry leaves in the nearby forest. Many leaves cling to their branches despite the date. A suprprising number are still green. One of the pear trees bloomed again in September. Now there are young pears flaunting their spring vibrance. It's a brash move and one that the frost will likely squeeze to a halt. Still, one can appreciate the determination. It seems almost 'genetically hopeful'.
